These Are My Confessions (Part 2!)

I must confess....I let the wedding party take the toaster with the toasted mouse to their breakfast brunch this morning.
The other night Ciara came running into the bar where Lee and I were with a crazed look on her face and greeted us with, "You will never guess what just happened! There's a mouse in the toaster!!" She then continued with, "I was making toast...its still moving around in there I don't know what to do!" Upon further questioning on the way to the staff kitchen, we found out that Ciara had put the bread in, started toasting it, and then discovered the mouse. And she didn't think to push the cancel button. Or even unplug it for that matter. So by the time we walked in and turned it off there was a dead mouse in the toaster, and when Lee pulled it out it was burned across the neck. It was really sad, and I felt horrible because that poor little mouse got toasted alive.
We had a wedding this weekend, and their wedding brunch was this morning. As Dara and I were prepping for the day in the kitchen we noticed they had an extra toaster and that the one in the staff kitchen was missing. Dara asked if we should tell them that they were eating toast with a hint of mouse, and he said that it had "kind of" been cleaned. Apparently Dara and the other Ciara (yes, we have two of them working here, it gets confusing) had given it a good shake out and vacuumed it out as best they could. Since neither of us especially wanted to go tell the wedding party (or our manager) about the toasted mouse incident. we just let them eat away in the hopes that no one got sick.

....ok I have another confession. Dara and I didn't realize that they had taken the mouse toaster after they had already been eating. We actually saw Marg take the toaster out right past us through the kitchen on her her way out to the restaurant. So really, we could have prevented it. Oops. -K
