Apparently we've been having quite a few little earthquakes here in the Sounds. People keep running into the kitchen and asking if we felt them...and I never have. Until the other day, and the flickering of the power alerted me to it. It also rudely interrupted my argument with McClain on how to correctly pronounce aluminum and that the herb is called cilantro and not corriander. This is the first place I've been where my accent is being mocked to no end. Apparently the way I say things like 'burger' and 'awesome' is hilarious. There's a lot of little funny things that happen during the day, but none really worth a blog post. Pierre, one of the french guys here, was talking about a french rapper tonight and pronounced it 'raper' instead. It's fun working with people from all different countries, mostly because it's usually pretty hilarious when trying to translate and explain things to each other.
Nothing new to report from Furneaux really. Erin is gone, she ran away to Asia (I am so very jealous). And horray for a new era, the witch is gone as well! We have a new manager now, he's been here for 7ish years and he's awesome. Things are beginning to slow down here, we had our last wedding for the season a couple days ago. And when they left they also left a trail of destruction for housekeeping. We found holes in walls, blood on sheets from people cutting themselves, puke on pillows and couches, weka poo everywhere, and one guy even wet the bed. Haha, his girlfriend cleared the sheets for us and told us this happens quite often when he drinks a lot. And then we had to carry out his pissy mattress so it could dry in the sun, and we had to carry it out in front of all of his friends. It was pretty hilarous, despite the fact that we had to clean it and we now have a pee stained mattress to deal with. I'm still in the kitchen and housekeeping, which is good because if I were stuck in just one of those jobs all day I would lose my mind. I'm also planning my great return to the States for early May. I don't really want to come back, but there are weddings to be celebrated and adventures to be had. And amazing friends and family to be seen as well. :)
That is all for now. I'll let you all know when something exciting happens, and Ill try and get Erin to write a post or two about Asia. Ta-ta for now. -K
MAAAAAYYYY!!!! Cannot come fast enough.
